02 / ANIMATION & EXPLAINER FILMS
Make complex ideas easy to understand and worth remembering.
A product process, public issue or organisational change can be completely accurate and still lose its audience. We work out the question a viewer needs answered, then find the people, images and structure that make the answer clear.

THE APPROACH
First, decide what the viewer needs to grasp
A dense brief often contains several messages competing for the same minute. We find the central audience question, the facts that cannot move, and the decision or understanding the film should support. From there, we choose a treatment: a person explaining the work, a process shown in action, a short dramatic situation, animation, or the right mix. We do not assume every complex subject needs a voice-over and icons.
Accuracy and attention belong in the same plan
We work from subject-matter sources and identify who can approve product, legal or public claims. Treatment and script decisions are reviewed before production, so accuracy is not saved for a last-minute edit. The film still needs a rhythm and a human route through the information. A fact only helps if the viewer stays long enough to understand it.
What the work shows
For MOE’s Let’s Go GEO, Red Ink developed 2D explainers and 3D character-led episodes from an originating concept and character designs supplied by the client. Detailed creative and production development turned complex geography ideas into visual explanations within a recurring world.
Faesol iLite shows a different route: Red Ink brought live-action interviews, industrial and laboratory footage together with animation in a commercial film. The Faesol script was supplied.

If your brief needs one clear story, tell us what you need the audience to understand. We will recommend a creative and production approach, then scope the project around the brief.

One clear story to tell?
Tell us what the audience needs to understand. We will recommend a film approach that fits the brief.
Explore Clear Story FilmShould we use animation or live action?
Choose the form that makes the subject clearest for the audience. Live action can show people and real processes; animation can make invisible or changing ideas visible.
Can animation and live action be combined?
Yes. Faesol iLite combines filmed industrial and laboratory work with animation to connect details of the product story.
Do we need to provide a finished script?
No. Share the facts, audience questions and approval requirements. Red Ink can help shape a treatment and script where writing is part of the agreed scope.
What affects an animation project's timeline?
The length and complexity of the explanation, visual style, character or asset development, review stages and number of deliverables all affect the schedule.
THE NEXT FRAME
Have a message worth getting right?
Share the brief while there is still room to make it better. We will look at the audience, the decision the film needs to help them make, and the practical constraints before recommending a route.
