Construction progress, timelapse and project-journey films

Document the progress, the milestones and the story behind a construction project.

D’Leedon architectural film still

Construction projects develop over months and years. A film can make that progress visible, show the milestones that matter and give the completed project a clear journey.

Originally published in 2021, this page has been updated to describe Red Ink’s current capability in construction progress, timelapse and project-journey films.

Show progress over time

Timelapse brings changes across a long period into a sequence people can understand quickly. It can sit alongside milestone shoots, location filming and drone footage where relevant, giving viewers both the overall progress and a closer view of the work.

The right combination depends on the project, the site and the story you need to communicate. A progress update and a completed-project film may need different capture plans and different edits.

Plan the story before the capture

Start with the audience and the purpose. Who needs to see the progress, which milestones should be documented and what should the finished film help them understand?

From there, we can shape the filming approach around the project duration, access arrangements, useful viewpoints and the moments that need a crew on location. Timelapse capture, milestone filming and aerial cinematography are production capabilities within that plan.

Build a project journey

A sequence of changing buildings can show what happened. The edit can also connect that progress to the people, place and purpose behind the project.

Construction and location imagery can support stakeholder updates, project communications and a film about the finished development. We will recommend the combination that suits the brief.
